Cathedral Church of St. Marie R.C at Cathedral Church of St Marie R.C
St Marie's Roman Catholic Cathedral is situated in the City centre of Sheffield near the Town Hall and opposite the Crucible & Lyceum Theatres.
Built in 1850 by local architect M.E.Hadfield, it is a fine example of a Victorian church based on a neo-gothic design. The cathedral has a fine array of stained glass windows including designs but Hardman and Pugin.
St. Marie's is the motherchurch of all the catholic churches in Sheffield. It is much loved and much used and is a haven of prayer and peaceliness in a busy city centre.
You are most welcome to look around, but please be aware that services may be taking place. Please wait at the back until they are finished.
