Yorkshire South Tourism is a partnership that is made up of public and private sector organisations and is working with its partners across the region to become the fastest growing visitor economy in the UK.
Our marketing and promotional activity will enhance the work that is already underway with individual tourism operators. Working with partners, we’ll create an all encompassing approach to marketing and all of our partners will benefit from media advertising, on-line promotions, direct mail, exhibitions and public relations. We’ll raise the profile of the region as a visitor destination and all of our results will be carefully measured to evaluate the effectiveness of our campaigns and inform future activity.
The marketing opportunities are open to any business with an interest in tourism including accommodation providers, attractions, restaurants, retail etc..

Quality in Tourism Discounts availble to partners of Yorkshire South Tourism
In line with regional and national tourism organisations, YST will only actively promote assessed accommodation. To encourage businesses to participate in the assessment scheme, any non-assessed buisness who joins the YST Partnership scheme can benefit from a free advisory visit from Quality in Touirsm and in addition may also be entitled to a discount off the first year's participation in the scheme. The new database which was installed in the region last year is now being actively used in South Yorkshire. It is the main tool that the Tourist Information Centres across the region use to deliver their services, and is also the database that publishes accommodation, attraction and events information to this website as well as Yorkshire Tourist Board's consumer website - yorkshire.com and onwards to the EnjoyEngland and Visit Britain sites. Without having an entry on the DMS, there is no way for a tourism business to appear on these websites.
Please check your data that is being published on this site, if you don't have an entry, or the details need amending please download the appropriate questionnaire, complete it and return it to Caroline Wilson at YST.
By using the guestlink system accommodation providers can update their own availability and rates and offer online availability and take bookings for all or some of their rooms. By offering visitors to this facility your entry will automatically appear higher up the searches on the various websites.
Over the next few weeks the visitdoncaster.co.uk, visitrotherham.org and sheffield.gov.uk websites will also be using the same data.
